You may already be familiar with the universal law of cause and effect – in other words, the energy of your thoughts and actions are the direct cause of your daily reality. With that understanding, you can be sure that the power of positive thinking will go a long way toward keeping your reality in good shape.
Your thoughts are the catalyst for the actions you eventually decide to take.
Most people do not pay much attention to what they are thinking about at any given time. If you stop to check in with your thoughts, you’ll likely notice that there is a great deal of time spent daydreaming, reliving the past, or worrying about the future.
You can be sure that these thoughts are directly affecting the results of your daily reality in one way or the other because they affect the decisions you make.
This isn’t to say that we don’t all have constructive thoughts as well. For instance, coming up with ideas to perform a task more efficiently or taking the time to help someone. These are typically part of our daily experience as well and our reality will benefit from these positive actions.
The power of positive thinking along with the awareness of the law of cause and effect make a potent formula for achieving a fulfilling life of your choosing.
If you could develop the ability to connect personal events that happen to actions you took in the past, you would eventually be able to determine ahead of time which actions would result in a desired outcome. Imagine what that would be like!
This is a very lofty goal and one that you’re not likely to attain anytime soon, but you can gain some measure of this control with practice. You can start right now just by becoming aware of your thoughts and what type of energy they’re made up of.
Here is a simple example that is common to all of us:
Standing in line: In the grocery store, if I had to stand in line for any length of time, I used to become impatient to the point of anger. This kind of energy affected my whole perception so that everything about my surroundings became annoying and uncooperative – kids crying, the slowness of the checker, the rudeness of the other people in line and so on.
Now I try to catch myself before getting locked into that impatient state and use the power of positive thinking to switch gears by seeing my surroundings in a more friendly light. Just by applying this practice to obvious situations like standing in line you really can make a huge difference in how your reality unfolds. Your positive thoughts and awareness will naturally attract better experiences.
